As an owner, came down on Saturday afternoon for the monthly ‘wine club’. Delighted to meet up with old friends, enjoyed tasting 6 wines and bought a very delicious Sauvignon at a reasonable price. I had to drive down to the Viking as was running late….very unlike me! Left my car there afterwards and caught the bus back. Had a chat with two families on the bus who were enjoying a weekend holiday. Saw them a couple more times over the weekend, and they were having a fabulous time at the fair, the beach and evening entertainment. Walked back to the Viking to collect my car much later that evening and treated myself to chips and curry sauce from the Real Fish and Chip shop on site. Although a bit of a wait, as it was so popular, the food was delicious and great value for money.
On Sunday, I walked to Head Office and enjoyed a cheeky portion of Mexican cheesy chips and sour cream, along with a Coke, courtesy of Sales! There was a bucking bronco on offer too…..I didn’t attempt that! No obligation to chat with the Sales team in exchange for the free lunch, however I did enjoy looking through the windows of some new caravans…..absolutely not tempted though.
At around 4.30 I went to Embassy to see if I could get a ticket for the evening entertainment, and I was successful, it was actually quite quiet. At 7.45, after watching an awesome Selsey sunset, I wandered down, enjoyed the last throes of two very talented singers singing Disney songs. Played the bingo Flyer, didn’t win the £244, and then took part in the TV quiz…..I was abysmal, clearly don’t watch enough TV. The Showteam ended the evening with a fabulous ‘ABBA Mia’ show….superbly talented as usual. Most people were adhering to the current restrictions; Security was gently reminding those who were not. All staff as usual were polite, friendly, super efficient and made me feel very safe. I was ‘billy no mates’ up on the balcony though haha!
Monday morning started with a glorious sunrise, before I set about cleaning the starling poop off my deck…..there are often murmerations of starlings flying over the nature reserve, and dropping the contents of their berry laden stomachs!
A lovely walk along the beach, at lowish tide before a long walk along the Medmerry Nature Reserve, returning through Chainbridge Lane completed my day. The rest of my stay until I went home consisted of sunning myself on the deck, watching a few solo aeroplanes from Goodwood overhead, plus a Chinook and a formation of two planes.
